Ladies and Gentlemen of the general Dallas Texas area music scene WATCH OUT, here comes ALEX KAUTZ! In fact, the whole world should watch as this talented soul gains traction on his musical journey towards making his dreams come true.

We all know Dallas is no stranger to music but as his Youtube and social media numbers climb, one might think, that they should pay a closer look. There is REAL raw talent here.

At 24 years old, Alex, currently funds and runs all his own music and websites. Currently he is self-funding an EP that his fans are eagerly awaiting a release date for.

In the meantime be sure to drop by his Youtube page to check out his latest single "Bad Habit" and maybe hit that like and subscribe button to show your support! With the real presence of a showman at heart, Alex takes us on a werewolf/vampire fantastical journey in the span of 3:50 and I am ABSOLUTELY HERE FOR IT. He transforms himself physically and transports us into a world of his own creation a trip of bad habits.

Make-up work was done SKILLFULLY by the wonderful Gigi Cocker and Nikki Mac. The video was produced by the incredible Christopher Lynn Shelton AKA CutDownTrees. And the Wardrobe was by the talented Bill Peck. All-in-all I have to say, personally, it's worth the watch and a really catchy song.

I caught up briefly with Alex, and was able to get an interview with him for this blog. That being said, he was very sweet and prompt in answering and was more than happy for a chance to collaborate. I love any chance I get to promote my favorite artists, musicians, writers, poets, gamers, models, etc...so without further ado....

What drew you to the music industry?

I’ve been in love with music my entire life!

Who are you inspired by?

I'm a huge fan of pop music and am constantly inspired by legends like Adele, Lady Gaga, & Amy Winehouse.

Please explain your creative process:

My creative process is something that is constantly evolving and changing. Every song is different!

What’s an average day like for you?

Working on social media, practicing guitar & vocals, and sometimes I try to fit a workout in!

Is there a hidden meaning in any of your music?

One of the best parts about music is that it’s subjective! Lots of hidden meanings in my music. :)

Do you collaborate with others? What is that process?

I love collaborating with others! I have an open form on my website for anyone interested. :)

Please discuss how you interact with and respond to fans:

I am so appreciative to anyone who streams my music, so I really do try and respond to everyone. Obviously, I can’t respond to messages all day so I try to be fair and keep convos short and sweet.

What is your favorite part about this line of work? Your least favorite? Why?

My favorite part is being able to live my dream and do what I love most. Least favorite - social media because it consumes a lot of my time.

Have you ever dealt with performance anxiety? If not what is a live performance with you like?

I do get nervous before live shows, but I use the adrenaline as fuel for my performance.

Tell me about your favorite performance venues:

I love performing anywhere- from small, intimate venues to large arenas.

What advice would you have for someone wanting to follow in your footsteps?

Be ready to work really, really hard.

Where are you from/where did you get your start?

I'm a 24 year old musician based in Dallas, TX. I'm was raised in Mansfield!

Are you signed to a label? Or are you looking to GET signed, or do you kinda like the independent vibe?

I’m not! I own my music, but would love to be signed if I was offered a good deal!

Can you tell me a little bit about the first song you ever wrote? Or is there a song that is more special to you? Why?

Don't Turn out the Lights was written about a breakup. The lyrics 'break down the boxes, no this ain't no time for talking, let's make love on the bubble wrap...'  are dramatized, of course, but that's really what I wanted to happen during those moments. I'm proud of this song because it shows I'm capable of spinning negatives into positives.

Rumor has it you're going to be releasing new music soon, that is exciting, when is that? and are you releasing an entire record or is it an ep?

I will be releasing new music soon! You’ll have to stay up to date with me… I will announce soon on my social media! (provide links here)

What should people expect from you in the near future, performance wise? Are you crowdfunding anything or getting ready to hit the road at all?

Expect a show! I love to perform and can’t wait to tour with my music! I’m not crowdfunding.. I pay for all of this myself.
