Blog #42: IAMX & ANDY BLACK APRIL

Andy Black - Ghost of Ohio

So April is almost upon us and man do I have a month ahead of me! We reserved three tickets months ago at the Gothic Theater here in Denver and we cannot express how excited we are to see Andy Black on tour doing his solo thing and doing it well. As more and more dates of more and more kickass artists compile on this spring/summer schedule I realize that my proclamation last year that this was going to be an EXCELLENT year for music is only looking like its coming into fruition with each passing month! I'll get more into depth with that in a moment, first I want to give a small life update.

Currently our lil family is settling graciously into our little hole of a home and we are making the best of what we have. I'm doing well at work so they don't have a problem giving me hours, and that makes me happy because my husband's job is dicking him around on hours, hard. They acted like they needed help very badly, but ever since he transferred over, he's only worked on day. That is worrisome but I'm doing my best to pick up what slack I can. I need to produce 300$ for my shit traffic ticket that I got on the way here before the time runs up (and I believe the date is sometime at the beginning of April for that) and I am only biweekly in pay and part time. So, I'm scrambling to figure out how I'm going to pay that off. I've got rent vastly approaching as well, but my Andy Black tickets are already secured.

April 17th is when I'm headed over to the Gothic with Raith and Moosh to catch Andy's solo tour.

I have been waiting for this for a long time and I am absolutely thrilled the more I hear the new music. Apparently for every pair of tickets you buy through the venue, you get a free copy of the cd. I'm souped to be getting that. It'll ship on release day, but of course I'm going to hear that shit before it reaches my fingertips because I'm obsessed like that. Andy's music is awesome and makes me smile and I love how he story-builds.

Anyway, some of the more wonderful things that have been happening in my life? I have insurance now! I cannot express how much of a relief that is. Not only that? But for the first time in many, many years if not ever--I feel like I am meeting people that are like-minded who are willing to accept me for who I am. It makes me feel like a weight has been lifted off my chest and I cannot express how much I appreciate every one of you that have touched my life. I am physically meeting the most beautiful people and it is SO strange (surreal?) to be able to just relax around someone. Wow. I love you.

Speaking of GOOD music, GOOD vibes, and GREAT people--I am going to see IAMX on April 29th. Just after seeing Andy at the Gothic I intend on heading over with my girls to the Bluebird theater to see Chris Corner ie IAMX play live for the first time. Gosh I have loved his music for years thanks to a friend of mine who introduced him to me. From Sneaker Pimps to IAMX I am completely addicted to the vibes he throws. I can't wait to see him doing his thing live.

Both Chris and Andy are great at telling stories; stories of overcoming defeat and feeling hopeless. Stories of discovery and acceptance of self.  They have powerful lyrics and both are extremely opposite ends of the musical spectrum but for years they have BOTH (among many others) have made me extremely happy. For that I am extremely grateful on many levels. I can't wait for April. I want to buy at least a little bit of merch while I'm there but we'll see what I can afford. The experience is something I can keep with me forever regardless. I am so SO excited to see them. Palaye Royale are due to arrive here in May in Colorado Springs but I have yet to work out logistics or details to see if I can attend that venue just yet and it's sometime a way. So only time will tell. Is anyone else planning on attending any really rad fucking shows this coming month??? Let me know in the comments!'

On top of that stuff I mean I've been posting more vlog and gaming videos and only plan on doing more of that as I go. More money comes in means more equipment upgrades and then I can think about finally streaming on Twitch! Another exciting new thing I managed to put out is my new FOOD BLOG. I plan on getting a new camera soon, so that means better pictures but the recipes are GRADE A and 100% recipes me and my family use on a monthly (if not more) basis (we like variety). I don't know what the schedule for the food blog will be just yet, I'm going to see at the end of the week how good of a response she gets and go from there. I do know that I have been writing 5 recipes every monday for a couple of weeks now, and by the end of the year the recipes will be in a book that I plan on looking into publishing after I have it for real edited. Some of those recipes will be selected for my blog, so, check em out! Like photography? Check out my new Shutterstock Portfolio

I appreciate all the support I get, and I love you all, catch ya on the social medias. ;)
PS I posted this video ^^ because I got a request for it after I posted a gif lol! Enjoy!

Blog Post #41: Meet My Buddy Blaine the Pain and Join the Hype!

This is my buddy Blaine the Pain he's many things; a friend, a full-time hardworking father of four little ones, a husband, a gamer, a streamer, a brand critic, a creator, and an all around outstanding person. Is this a shameless plug for a good friend? Absolutely, but hear me out....because it'll be worth the time.

Born in Fall River, Massachusetts and based out of the smallest state in our nation (United States)--'Lil Rhodie, where I'm from, Blaine has big plans and an even bigger heart to spare!

Personally what would you get out of the experience if you were to join the hype train and check out Blaine's rapidly building gaming network? Well for starters, the experience. He has a wide range of content from family friendly gaming fortnite adventures on Twitchtv with his kids, to lone gameplay that's a little more adult rated content, to reviews of content (games mostly, but also tech equipment he uses, and PC gear as well!) from games that haven't hit the market yet. Not only does he share these reviews, and his gameplay, but he streams his real life on Twitch as well so personally--I've got so much respect for this hard-working ace gamer that I just had to share.

Let's talk long term and short term goals for Blaine the pain and his brand community HypeSpeed. Personally Blaine's long-term goals are to become an affiliate on Twitch and to make money doing something he is passionate about through a wide-range audience, so that he is allowed to spend more time creating, supporting/spending time at home with his beautiful family.

Short-term plans for his brand HypeSpeed is to provide a safe haven for a community of gamers to come together for friends or advice on how to improve on creating and pushing gaming/streaming content, and to perhaps gather some sponsorship along the way to make this possible. Now, how about the long-term? Long-term plans are to gather a network of gamers together, in a completely relaxed nondiscriminatory environment (Come one, come all regardless of Age, Race, Gender, Sexual Orientation, Religion, Nationality, Disability, Body Art, Or the fact that you just cannot be quiet! Welcome.) where everyone is expected to learn, have fun, and grow together. End goal for HypeSpeed is to have a physical community center where creators and gamers alike, within the community, could come and gather together. There would be provided gaming stations, gaming events, and a cafe/lounge area for your convenience.

Sounds like Blaine is the man with the plan, I don't know, but I would really like to see this happen for him. He's an all around positive and pleasant guy, he works hard, and he is pretty fricken enjoyable to watch when he streams! I think you should stop by the provided links below--and check him out for yourselves! Tell me what you think when ya do! Oh, and don't do so without telling him Danii Grimm sent ya his way! ;) Us Rowdy Rhodies gotta stick together. Birds of a feather they say!

This week's review #blog was a good time to write! If you liked this kind of friendly review on one of my skillful friends, let me know! I'll interview more of them, and pass them on to you! I have a plethora of professionals to pick from, so really--I could go on forever with it! If it gets a decent amount of viewage this week then I might think of opening a separate #blog for creators I know! It would be worth the time and effort to do something so wonderful for people who not only deserve it, but to do it for people I actually know would be even better. Let me know what you think! Blog Post #40: On A Rocky Mountain High

Over the Mountains and through the woods...

So for the passed almost decade I have lived in Arizona with my family. My husband and father to my only child, and our child have never lived anywhere BUT that state--I hail from a small state called Rhode Island but it has been a MINUTE since I have had to up and move from some familiar settings. And Admittedly, I like stability. I knew that we could do it, we had no emotional ties to this state other than the memories we have already made...but between my pictures and my memory, those will never die. So unto new and better things. It was just nerve wrecking getting here. LOL. But that is for you to watch/hear about in the video over on Youtube. We made it. We set out to move and we made it, with very little getting in our way. The universe heard our cries, and we worked together to achieve our goals.

This week's corresponding vlog is just as long as you would expect it to be. We had so much footage and ground to cover that we ended up with about 30 mins of cut footage. But man do my patrons have some nice things coming. ;) Also, now that I'm settled I plan on filming at least one thing every day. So please feel free to follow me and my family on our adventure. Enjoy! We had a blast making this! More good things coming soon too! Good things come to those who wait, and patience is most certainly a virtue.

Now let's begin the next chapter shall we!? When we arrived here in Colorado we met with our new Landlord who we'll call Barry. Barry, was very cool. Even though his shit ass company rented the house we wanted right out from under our noses, it really worked out that we rented this place for six months. We have six months to get a good grip on our area, and maybe to get into the front unit of the house we are in. It's a bigger unit, and we have our eye on it. PLUS! we are now local and renting through Barry's company, so there's no reason they should rent out something from under our noses. And Barry has been super reasonable about settling and paying a decent price for this place. Boy is Denver expensive to live in. LOL but we knew that before we came.

I'll post a video later this week of a tour around my place, and how I've got it set up. It's a little small and chaotic but there are only three of us walking around really. Stubblez just chills in one general area and Mr Fluffincute is mostly in his cage unless he's rolling around in his ball. He's got a good path to do that along so we're happy, for now. And the future only promises good things for us. I can't wait.

That being said, I love the area. We have a really cool dispensary nearby with great deals! We have a library right nearby with a wonderful selection and we go almost every day. We have a giant fucking park nearby. We are just fucking feet from a trail, one that I actually take to work. There is a cemetery right in front of our house and you know what? Everything we need (laundry, groceries, etc) is ALL right nearby. I love it here. The crime is very low here. The homeless problem is basically nonexistent and the area is pretty fucking clean. I'm pretty satisfied. Especially because our utilities are included in rent, now if only we can get a better internet situation set up...but soon enough!

My husband starts his job tomorrow morning bright and early, and I started mine last night. I did fabulous according to my coworkers and I was very nervous. So I'm glad it didn't show too much. I made a few mistakes but it wasn't too bad, and I wasn't expected to do stocking just work/learn/run the register and the lottery. It's all a lot of muscle memory, so I seem to almost got it down. Maybe my training period won't be all that long, then again--no way to tell as I was only there for four hours. I go in again Tuesday and Wednesday and I'm actually looking forward to learning more. I think I can really excel here. AND with all my online plans this year, I really think that my family may have a chance to flourish here.

We've got the flu or a cold in this household: the scratchy throat, the fever, the soreness etc. But the one that it seems to be hitting the hardest is little moosh. Not too bad though, because we've got her some Tylenol and she seems to be making a quick recovery. My house is clean. My lungs have air. I'm not too sick and no one is fucking with me. Life, for the moment,  is fucking good. Thank you Universe. We have been trying to pay it forward ourselves as well. Just today, we had found a US BANK card on the ground over in a plaza by a Home Depot, well--we picked it up and tried to return it to the bank but it was closed so we called them and told them we found it. They deactivated the card and thanked us. It felt good. Imagine how shitty it would feel to have lost your bank card, and have a shitload of charges run up? Damn, that would really suck. I have had something similar happen to me when I was young, it felt so horrible. I couldn't imagine doing anything else with the thing. We took it home and cut it up. Your welcome Philip, wherever you are out there. It was my pleasure.

Okay well, for now my internet is really shitty so I can't stream but my patrons and my youtube friends can expect a lot of videos coming. Maybe even some of my twitter peeps will see me. The goal is to get my ass more comfortable in front of the camera this year, so that when I get in front of people Im not so incredibly awkward. When I get a new phone, I'm going to be setting up a premium cosplay snapchat and a depop for extra income. So keep an eye out for that. I'm also pretty handy with crafts so I'll be opening up my Etsy account as soon as I have a good stock of supplies. I'm going to be doing a vegan based food blog this year, it wont be every week like this blog but its going to be fun to figure out. Tomorrow I may post one up by the end of the day to get things going so you get a feel of what's going on but reader beware--I have an allergy to tomatoes. So no one will find tomatoes in my recipes unless its in the stewed or pasted form, and even then I TRY to avoid it more often than not. Well, wow. A lot of plans this year and such a full schedule! But I can't wait!

Shout out to all my sisters out there having a rough time today. Something is going on out there that's making things sour and usually, things like this come in threes for me. It happened again that way today. I lit my candles, some are STILL lit, and I've been happily vibing all day. Girls, I fuckin got you. You are strong, and life is hard. I know it, you know it, and the universe knows it. So it's testing you. But you'll bounce back. We always do. <3 and="" chin="" fight="" hand="" my="" nbsp="" on.="" p="" take="" up.="">

Music Interview with Metal Band BE//GOTTEN

Life has gotten in the way for everyone and I'm just going to leave it at that because I'm pretty sure no matter where you are in...
