Blog #22: NaNoWriMo is Upon US! (almost)

I mean I sure am but I am pretty sure I have written one of these 50,000 word Novels, from  2006 and every year following that including this coming one. So let me delve into the wonderful world of National Novel Writing Month....ie NaNoWriMo, though I know some of my followers are definite participants--as we have talked about this in the past before my blog was an ever present thing in my life.

First things first? Anyone can participate. Old? Young? Big? Small? And most importantly, anywhere in the world. As long as you have access to a computer, you have access to completion of NaNaWriMo.

National Novel Writing Month is a "Seat-of-your-pants"  approach to creative writing. Starting on November 1st participants have 30 days to submit their 50,000 WORD novel. So if you're that person who has been thinking of writing a novel but haven't been able to give yourself that extra push, I highly recommend logging into the site and getting started in T minus three days. Need more info on NaNoWriMo?

I love how much NaNoWriMo brings like-minded people together in the same community as well as across the world. They say it's "No Sleep November" for a reason. But the accomplishment of finishing a novel and winning the challenge is really what keeps me coming back every year. For those of you who might need the extra push? There are also sponsors every year who offer prizes at the end of the 50,000 word climb. So if you join, you'll be able to see what this year has to offer.

According to the website you check out Camp NaNoWriMo in the months of July/April and do the same goal here but it's something newer that I haven't actually been apart of enough to talk about.

So if you think about your novel before the first I think that's allowed, it's been a long while since I've seen guidlines or updated rules or whatever but I feel like that is okay.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                        However, plotting of the story/characters/setting etc should all not be worked out til the first. You literally have to put the work in to get that novel knocked out in 30 days. And at 50,000 words that should be something truly simplistic for someone who has been writing for a long while. Maybe a bit more of a challenge for someone who has not--but both are EQUALLY as fun/rewarding. Either way I hope to see some of you on the site this year, I'll drop my name so we can friend each other and have write ins together, because I am always open to those. Who is ready for NO SLEEP NOVEMBER? Hit my dms if you want my site name sooner than the first but as soon as November hits I'll drop it I swear. I love friends on all the social medias, so this is the same thing.                                                                                                                                    What do you think? Gonna write a novel this year?

I am.....Not sure what's going to happen yet...but I'm going to be adding on to a novel I've been writing for years. I know there will be questions but the only thing I will say about said novel is it takes place in the West 20 or so years after a zombie outbreak. Right now I'm still in the fleshing out of characters and back stories for the prologue phase, but let me tell you--I have so many plans for this baby. One day I'll release it, and if not? Well, maybe my husband will do it for me when I die.

For me, writing has always been a way to escape, even for a little while. I know everyone has their own reasons but I had handful of things I was running from as a child (maybe I'll get into that one day) that got me into creative writing and poetry. I no longer write poetry, but that is a personal choice I made after my biggest fan passed away (I MISS YOU GRAMMY!) when I was a young girl. Though writing has always stuck strong with me even as my stresses became less over the years, as a sort of rock--I don't think I'll ever stop doing it. It's a wonderful way to relieve a tremendous amount of stress. As someone who lives every day with Bipolar disorder, I appreciate any coping mechanism that works, and this WORKS.

What are some coping mechanisms you have to help manage your stress? Comment down below or hit up my dms on my various social medias. I know you babes are totally watching. I've been keeping an eye on my notifications and my numbers. I see all of you supportive wonderful people and I love you. Thank you so much. It means a lot to me, to be able to do something when I am able to do so little. If I can make a small difference here, then I've achieved my goals.

Alright guys, I love you. Plenty to do, and so little time, so stay tight! be real! BE YOU!

Blog #21: Tis the Season to get Spooky

Today is another busy day at the Grimm family household; while my husband is off to do a mountain of laundry, Moosh and I are at home doing our best to make the biggest most productive mess possible--all in the name of Halloween. Of course, when we're done, I'll be the one to clean it and then put the mountain of laundry away--but that's neither here nor there, welcome to the blog this week!

I took some pictures of the before for the blog but the pictures of the after won't be posted til everything is ready to be hung! No spoilers! But Halloween is only 10 days away so it's not long now--soon enough you'll be able to peek them on my Instagram and Twitter.

Mooshby is ready to be a vampire and we have most of her costume ready but are still working on a few final touches. Same goes with mine....buuuuut the other day we picked up a fucking PIPBOY and I am so excited! It was super big, like it could only fit my bicep....so there's a mental image for all of you. My bicep is about the normal diameter of a male's forearm. I'll just let you drink that up a moment......okay moving on. Now that we all know that I am possibly a tiny person living in a tiny home (that is exactly what I am)....pressing forward!

While my husband was off washing our month's worth of laundry that I like to nickname Mount Laundromore--I broke my fucking SD card for my very expensive camera. That was really shitty. My husband ran all the way home and helped me. That was really nice. My knight in shining armor coming through for me again. That being said, my SD card was ruined but I didn't lose anything and the very expensive camera remains in tact, so WIN. Another chivalrous thing he did for me was, he surrendered his personal phone SD for me to be able to for the moment be able to work my beloved pride and joy (yes my camera, fuck off, I love it that much).

With that nonsense over I was able to move on with my day so let me tell you what we're up to. Other then folding and putting away a massive pile of laundry and making all of our beds....adulting amirite?

Well we went deep here folks. We went into the back room pulled out our craft drawer and we are delving into it as much as we can. Here we come crafting. We prefer to make our own decorations. They don't always hold over all year long (yeah we're Halloween people they stay up LONG after the holidays), but that is why we are always able to make more. Just need a little imagination and some construction paper and glue and you are half way there. I know I know, in a generation that is so LAZY and tech fed this can be a little time consuming and "boring" this blog isn't for you. Get outta here. Where are the mommys at? The daddys? The kids at heart forever. Here is where you should be.

For those of you who are new here I used to own a small handmade jewelry store on Etsy but it hasn't been set up in a while. I may eventually dig into that again if anyone would be interested in what I might have to offer. Satan knows I need the boost. My poor husband.

Anyhow, if you're wondering what we have to work with there is A LOT here. Wire, hemp, yarn, burlap, pieces of cloth, paint, beads of all shape size and material, buttons....clasps, pins, stoppers, you name it. We Have construction paper, a hot glue gun, a glue stick, and PLENTY of determination. My daughter's room is decorated already for the holiday ladies and gents, as I mentioned in a previous blog, so that means this is for the rest of the house and then all we have is the outside porch. The outside porch needs something a little more durable than paper, but we plan on going on a budget and getting some lanterns to light it up, maybe some more webbing to get the kiddies attention but sadly Halloween has been getting less and less hype every year. Not cool. I know a bunch of yall love Halloween, where the fuck are yall? Get these religious weirdos who hate it out of my town, or bring me to a place with a bunch of MY people.

When we're done with that we're going to carve Carlos here. Yep, his name is Carlos. Carlos, is going to grace something that I'm not yet sure if I'm going to be able to pull off. It's sorta a surprise but what I can tell you is that there will be plenty of pumpkin seeds and pumpkin bread to be had. I can also say that if I can pull off what I'm going to pull off I'll be so proud of myself that I might forget the fact that I have been so sick this year that I haven't been able to beat my record last year of FIVE pumpkin carvings. Though, knowing myself, I will likely get pumpkins til  I can no longer get them locally like I did last year. And I will still carve them after halloween because, well--we're going to eat them anyway. Why not carve em? What a waste. Might as well put it to good use. I'm no pumpkin artist or anything, but I'm alright, and half the fun is getting dirty and getting in there. The other half is getting to see the product of your hard work as you enjoy a slice of pumpkin bread or some delicious pumpkin spiced pumpkin seeds that you made yourself. Truly the fruit of your labors, no?

"In Vault 76, Our Future Begins."

Now that my husband and I got the Pipboy to fit me properly (and anyone really gosh its so comfy!), we're going to start detailing the costume I bought. It's a mechanic suit, but with the right colors and some nimble sewing...we can make this work (yes we're hand stitching! We do not have a sewing machine these days).  I wanted to give you guys a sneak peek of what's to come because I'm not posting this bad boy til its on me the night of. Of course I'll be rocking a nerf gun as a plasma blaster, and a pair of kickin combats (because I always rock them) to tie everything together so I cannot wait to show you.

Speaking of sneak peeks here's a little something I thought I would show you guys. I can't say a whole lot about it other than my husband and I are working on something currently that we plan on sharing with Palaye Royale and the Royal Council (though I am still learning how to spell that because I have seen it a few different ways now). Very few people are in on this particular project, though I am also currently working on another for my band wall which is featured in most of our videos and streams but that is also hush hush. So, stay tuned or you will miss out!

Alright guys, I love you. Plenty to do, and so little time, so stay tight! be real! BE YOU!

Blog #20: A Peaky Binger

This week I was introduced to The Peaky Blinders on Netflix and I know I'm late to the game for this one ghouls but for three days straight I have been binge watching the episodes to catch up. Currently I am on season three but it is so fucking intense and good that I cannot stop watching it. Usually it takes a lot for me to get hooked and really there is a lot going on in this show-but it is worth it.

The summary of the show on Netflix and on Rotten Tomatoes both say, "A notorious gang in 1919 Birmingham, England, is led by the fierce Tommy Shelby, a crime boss set on moving up in the world no matter the cost."  It got incredible reviews on rotten tomatoes by both critics and audience and I can absolutely see why. I don't want to give any spoilers but this show has had me on the edge of my seat biting my nails the entire time; there have only been a couple of moments were I put things together and figured out a some things for myself before they happened and that is absolutely refreshing. WHAT GREAT WRITING!! I guess I should thank the writers and the BBC because this show is fucking wonderful.

Right now Netflix has all four seasons available and the seasons are short but they are jam packed with a magnificent cast, great acting, wonderful writing, and action galore. Equal rights and Family bond are strong topics in the show, as the family literally comes from nothing and I am in love. Not only that but it is also full of cultural aspects of the Irish, the gypsies, and the men/women of England in 1919-1923 which is just wonderful for me over here across the pond. I already love period pieces but obviously I'm not a history major or anything so I don't know what is hugely accurate and what is not. That being said, I would love to hear from anyone what may/may not be accurate/inaccurate in the series but I still find it very immersive and wonderful.

So apparently season five is set to air sometime in 2019 and they've begun production already!!! I cannot wait! I know that by it's release, I will be fully caught up with the series because that is how deeply invested I am in the characters and the plot of this show. It's crazy. I remember getting lost in books like this as a child but I haven't read a good book in so long that it's almost hard to pick them up these days. With these shows/movies I binge on Netflix I am allotted the flexibility I need (as someone with ADD) to pause the flick whenever necessary and just take in what I've learned or (as an introvert) just take a breath to myself to enjoy the silence around me and zen. With Peaky (and a few others that I have shamelessly binged) I am R I V E T E D  every step of the way and have barely taken a moment to myself or paused because I just N E E D to know where this show is going to carry my most beloved characters. THAT is why I had to take a moment to dedicate an entire blog to this.

What are some shows/movies you have shamelessly binged? Why? I would love to hear why you can reach me in my dms on Twitter or Here if you would like to keep it Anon.

So now as I sit here pondering what's going to happen after episode three in season three, I will leave you with a good recommendation for a great show. GO WATCH it if you are into this type of thing, I mean it's right up my alley but not everyone is into the same thing. This is the best I could do without spoiling any of it, but as a friend once told me "Don't sleep on Peaky Blinders..." it really is worth the watch.

Completely off topic for the last part of my blog here, who is ready for the holiday? I've already begun to decorate for Halloween and my family is still searching for bits and pieces of our costumes but we are in full swing of spooky season here! What have you done for spooky season? Gone to any haunted hayrides/mazes/houses? We don't usually tend to go to those because of my anxiety but I remember having some fun in them as a kid. Still, I can't wait to carve my first pumpkin. I think that's going to happen in the next few days, when I do? I'll post pics. For now I'll leave you with a pic of last year's carved by my husband. I carved four other ones, but there are no pictures unfortunately as we were in between equipment. I couldn't let these babies go to waste though, so brought to you by the camera on my husband's shit phone. Here is our Vale #blackveilbrides Pumpkin from last year. Cannot wait to try again this year.

What plans do you have?

Alright fam that's all I've got this week because I've been exuberantly lazy but with my new computer, SEVERUS,  I think that I'm about to get a lot done for yall in the form of content. So keep an eye out, because if you blink, you'll miss it! And I should start streaming again on YOUNOW to get into the swing of things but once I get a Playstation Pro and a couple more things (equipment level up!) then I will maybe start thinking about streaming over on Twitch with my dudes and sis's that I promote weekly. Who else will I see on Twitch? Because I know they'll get my back and sit in my weird streams (yes I know I play with skyrim corpses but don't judge me), we're all just here to have fun.

Love YOU! Stay tight! Stay Real! Be YOU!

Blog #19: Life Update!

Okay life update long overdue I think, so here goes; this week I almost died of the accidental governmental release of the "Captain Tripps" virus (good for you if you get the reference) but I seemed to have survived it for what that is worth. Now if I can stop having these fucking dreams of  a demon man named Randal I would appreciate it, and the RAVENS man, they WILL NOT shut up!

In all seriousness though there is something going around flu related and it is a real ZINGER! The symptoms I was experiencing where pure misery...but I digress....I'm sure you've gotten it by now and know exactly what I'm talking about. I'm talking head pounding, body aching, sinus filling, lung invading, cough inducing, sleep stealing viruses that are out there....and man did I get slammed good and hard. I was bed ridden for almost a week (save for that one day I deep cleaned the kitchen with a pretty high fever while I was delirious)...it was so bad that when I finally did step outside and glanced around. I noticed that the trees were in full FALL swing, and it fucking felt like it happened over night guys. I'm not kidding. I know I was away for a week, but damn the trees are already in yellow and orange stages. WHAT THE FUCK. Time flies. There isn't enough time in the world. Momento Mori.

We've begun to decorate for Halloween! Starting with my daughter's cave. She's apparently got a spider theme going on and we got most of the stuff in there from the Dollar Store so bargain buys. Today, we plan on delving in deep and making some of our own decorations--as well as unburying a few older ones. Then we'll get into the full swing of the Holiday. Moosh was fortunately spared of the demon flu, and my hubby got it briefly but due to abnormal inhuman Apache powers was healed in two days--AND worked through it. B L E S S him. For real. I love him. And I cannot wait for Halloween to come. He's going to hand out candy to the littles of the neighborhood and Moosh and I are going out. She changed her mind for the fifteenth time and now has said she wants to be a vampire. Easy enough so we're on a hunt for vampire wear at our local thrift stores. As for myself? I plan on being a vault dweller for Halloween. Any suggestions on how to make a prop pip boy? If not I have a few ideas, and will post pics of that and my costume on Halloween. Til then we have a few traditions to take care of; one being our pumpkin carving target. Last year, we hit five Jack-o-lanterns and this year Imma try for that and if time allows it, maybe add one more. I can't wait to make pumpkin seeds and pumpkin bread (my own recipes which are vegan/vegetarian friendly). AND I have begun getting spooky so yall need to look out for my costumes thrown together before Halloween. My prehalloween celebration if you will--it's woth it. Last year I made seven costumes and they were FUN.

OH! before I forget, have you listened to Boom Boom Room Side B? I sure fucking hope so! Last weeks blog got more hits than it ever has and I'm hugely grateful for that but I hope it was BECAUSE the boys are so fantastic. They TRULY deserve the recognition. I didn't get my physical copy until yesterday but omfg it's beautiful. I love the stickers, I love the artwork.I LOVE the t hand-written lyrics! I love this fucking album. I have been listening to it CONSTANTLY in my regular rotation of music for the passed week and I don't think I'm putting it down ANY time soon. HOLY shit. It is SO good. I'm adding the disc to my wall of cool today, but I did take to Twitter and Instagram with my glee last night when it did come! All I have right now is my tablet so it was challenging to say the least but I only needed something quick to show you how happy I was. I AM STILL, SO HAPPY. It's on right now as I write this. "Dying in a Hot Tub" my fave and yes I'm smiling like a weeb. No fucks. I really hope ya'll enjoyed it as much as I have been.

I have to talk about Andy Black and his newest endeavor because I am just so fucking proud of him. Admittedly I was not shocked when he dropped the bomb of his newest project (a graphic novel "The Ghost of Ohio") because it just seemed like a good direction for him to take. Andy Biersack is a fabulous storyteller and I have always been very captivated by the way he goes from point A to point Z to point B and back again. It shows me his way of thinking is pretty associative, and ya know what, I can relate. My brain flies and is very associative, so admittedly I stay with him for the whole ride and never get tired of it. I can't wait to see what a structured story from him looks like, something on paper (that he hasn't eaten) will be fabulous, and with Eryck Donovan (Batman) on board for artwork--I think I'm going to have to preorder this. Besides he and Gee Way being at the NY ComicCon, and me fan girling silently from miles away, I would say that is all I have to say about the matter. As a young girl I wasn't allowed much, but comic books were a good escape, anyone else have that? I didn't have a whole lot, and I'm not a fandom genius or anything--but I did have favorites. I still do.

That's pretty much it guys, a short one this week. No computer yet, but that should be here next week. Then I have my work cut out for me but I'm going to be throwing up a bunch of content for your pleasure so keep an eye out for that. I revitalized the Blue and Black in my hair after I was sick, so it's looking more vibrant (and dark) than ever! I AM IN LOVE with my hair again! But I do miss my natural Orange and Black. One day I may bring it back, what do you think? Blue for now though, because I'm really feelin' the blue energy.

Alright fam,

Music Interview with Metal Band BE//GOTTEN

Life has gotten in the way for everyone and I'm just going to leave it at that because I'm pretty sure no matter where you are in...
