Blog Post #`13: Raise others up to the light and in doing so rise yourself!

Hi there ghouls! It's that time of the week again! You guessed it! Blog time. Today I wanted to take the time to talk to everyone that's been following my social medias about positivity. Everywhere I look, I see people online "trolling" other people because they have nothing better to do. Left and right, I have bared witness to the almighty "Troll" at work and I can't help but ask myself--why??

What does someone get out of making my day miserable, by saying some really shitty stuff to me?

Furthermore, what the hell do people EXPECT when you emotionally attack someone and they retaliate, for them to just lay down and take it? Honestly, in the history of any human beings ever, when has that ever happened? Instead of twisting and turning every word we say to one another, why don't we peacefully and civilly have an adult conversation about our disagreement? That way, now and this is just a shot in the dark, but MAYBE--JUST MAYBE we could LEARN and GROW from one another and go from there.

Unfortunately as in real life, the cyberbullies or internet trolls, aren't going anywhere. But hey, neither are we, am i right?

That being said I found a wonderful database of absolutely marvelous people! All individuals who are unique, talented, supportive, and beautiful in one way or another. Most importantly, ALL OF THEM EMIT POSITIVITY. Why? Because you want to be surrounded by what you want in your own life, that is why. If you surround yourself in positive energy, you will be dripping in it--and that is when the real good stuff starts to happen. We are at 559 followers on twitter and HOLY fuckin cow we have come a LONG long way. I appreciate everyone who went the extra length to hit that "follow" button because man I started with 29 of yall and you were related to me or from school. Our next goal is 600 and damn I mean, if I blink we'll make it to 1K and I will miss it! That feeling is just....whoa....there is no words to express how I'm feeling other than THANK YOU.

I was ignored half of my life. I was treated like shit and bullied. I was molested and beaten. I was taken advantage of and used. I would take off for months without anyone even realizing I was gone. And now? Now I've got a database of family who wouldn't only realize I am missing, but they would actually be concerned--that feeling is just crazy. I've never had it before and it warms my heart and soul. For real. From the bottom of my heart and from the depths of my very soul. THANK YOU.

That being said I wanted to take the time to recognize what I've been doing on my #mancrushmondays and my #womancrushwednesdays these passed few weeks....let's face it it's a worthless hashtag for shameless plugging but hey.....I'm going to use it. I used to only promote my favorite bands/artists/musicians that I loved on these days until I started gathering more of you under my wing. Then, I started to really realize, wait a second.....I have some fucking amazingly talented followers. I want to do something to give back to them, for all that they do for me.

So, my beautiful, strong, independent, smart and sassy #women I have been holding you up in the light. My wonderful, hilarious, intelligent, nerdy, resourceful and sensitive #men I have been holding YOU up in the light. In hopes that my hash-tagging will get you further up in the ranks, I will gladly do so. Each and every one of you that I have highlighted on Monday or Wednesdays, deserve it and THEN SOME.

If I could support you in any other way I absolutely would--here I am, praising and raising you up again! I love you! You give me a reason to keep coming back each day and I truly appreciate that. I hope that I'm doing the same for some of you as well because that would make my heart swell. Gathering a couple pictures and saying a few nice words can really go a long fucking way, trust me---I know, I see you're shoutouts out there guys! They keep me going. So I'm still here. Blog #13. Thirteen weeks of straight blogging and even this is growing. I'm glad that my voice is coming through strong and that you are all interested in what I have to say. It's not just trash. My whole life I've just been worth trash, so it's nice to know that somewhere I have a small niche to turn to. Keep an eye out each week for my shout outs guys, because I'll keep em coming regardless.

These are mothers, gym stars, artsists, athletes, gamers, improv artists,  musicians, homebodies, comedians, poets, and so much more and I urge everyone in the ghoul fam to follow and share every single Monday and Wednesday because yall are fuckin' rock stars in my book. Whether you're a lifestyle blogger, a magnificant artist, someone with a cool podcast, or whatever it doesn't matter to me. What matters is you work hard, and you send me that positive energy that I'm lookin' for. I couldn't ask for a better fam and I'm working my hardest to do the same for you.

Can you feel it? Is it working?

So now we've reached the point of the page where I absolutely have to gush over Andy Black's newest cover/single "My Way." It was released August 24th (this last friday) and it was a solid tribute to Sid Vicious's version vs Frank Sinatra's. Here are my thoughts and opinion on the piece--I was highly anticipating it though, so I have to say that the thoughts and opinions are most certainly biased ones. When the single dropped and I heard the melodic intro of Andy Black's "My Way" I teared up as it instantly brought me back to when I was six years old;

I'll paint an image for you.

Imagine six year old me, lying on my stomach on the plush beige carpet reading while my grandmother is behind me singing. I, of course, am in my own world but her singing doesn't fall on deaf ears, and neither does the vinyl that she has on the record player.

"And now, the end is near....And so I face the final curtain....."

My fingers curl in and out of the full carpet fibers, as I hum along and close my eyes. Starting to sway to the music, side-to-side the book is no longer my focus, the music is. "I like his voice grandma."

"Me too sweetheart. Old blue eyes was one of a kind." She would tell me.

Course I didn't exactly know what old blue eyes meant at the time, but I still have that memory. I still remember that music, and I still get goosebumps every time I hear that song. So naturally, when I heard Andy's intro the hairs on my arms and neck stood up and I almost jumped out of my fucking seat. Then something beautiful happened, the punk kicked in at about 50 seconds into the song and god was I HOOKED. It doesn't sound like Sid's somewhat blatant rip-off of the Ramones "I wanna be Sedated" guitar licks, it sounds like pop-punk ANDY style. AND I LOVE IT. All his yells, all his carefully enunciated words, oh man this is on the top of my list for best covers. I really love it that much. It has a splash of Frank, a hint of sid, and all the Andy and I 100% approve of the song choice.

If this is a glimpse into what ABII has in store for us, then god damn am I ready. If not, then it was a fun sound off song to get us started! I already love his cover of  21 Guns, and of Rebel Yell. I'll have to add this to the top of that list though, because it holds a special place in my heart already. Cannot wait for next years record album release, it's going to be gold. I know it.

Finally I'd like to add that my hubby surprised me with the Alternative Press ANDY BLACK bundle. I cannot fucking wait, it is his 10th time on the cover of AP, I'm getting a multitude of other very neat stuff that you can only exclusively get through this bundle for a limited time and I intend on doing an unboxing video when it finally DOES come so be sure to keep an eye out for all that!

Still have more planned to, if you blink youll miss it, so stay tuned!

Alright fam,

Love YOU! Stay tight! Stay Real! Be YOU!

Blog Post #12:🎤 Slip into the autumn shade, I could sleep for days...🎶

The kids have all gone back to school for a fresh new year, the weather is in the 70s for half the day before temperatures inevitably rise to the stuffy 90s before ideally falling back down again once the sun sets, and they are once again advertising pumpkin spice flavored coffee.

That's right people, mothafuckin autumn has hit Flagstaff, and I couldn't be more thrilled. This is the season that I live for and thrive in. The weather is agreeable, the hectic chaos of the summer is winding down, and we are about to be knocking on winter's door. Am I sad to see summer go? Absolutely not. Summer baby or not, please take the temperatures and stuff it mother nature. I am absolutely ecstatic that you have started to cool off and give me the wonderful Earthy hues that come with the aspens here--god I love when the leaves change color; reds and yellows have hit the streets of Flagstaff and with each passing day I have begun a countdown to my favorite holiday of the year HALLOWEEN!!!! but that isn't the only Autumn holiday is it? I mean, Thanksgiving is right on the cusp of winter--and I'm also excited to try tofurkey this year (not a big fan of turkey to begin with so....let's keep our fingers crossed!)

Here are some articles to help understand the symbolism of Autumn:

7 Symbolic Meanings of Autumn | Spirituality & Practice | Symbolic Meaning of Seasons | Beliefnet.com

When the morning starts off so cold I need to wear my jacket, and the afternoon is so stuffy I'm sweating away all my fluids--when the night is so cold that I require my jacket and gloves...that is when I know fall is coming, here. We have only lived here now for three years, so it's a little predictable weather wise, when the autumn front has arrived--and we are ALWAYS before anyone on the East Coast (sorry guys some more sweltering weather headed your way for a bit!) but we are in the home stretch yall and it genuinely gives me a good feeling deep down inside. What is your favorite season? How do you know it's arrived where ever you are?

10 Signs Fall is Coming |  Outdoor Life: 25 signs Fall is Here | 17 Signs Autumn Has Arrived For the Kids

When I think of Autumn I think of a few things so I'll list them off real quick:

Here's a Autumn Checklist just in case mine isn't enough. They included a few of mine, as well as a few of their own interesting autumn activities. I might have to steal a few. Here's a family related check list of things to do that are maybe Autumn related. On a Budget? Good! Me too. So I've also provided and article of 50+ free or cheap things to do that are absolutely based around this fabulous season upon us. Want something a little more local? Are you in the area? This is for you, or if you just want to hit some local trails because of course that is free and one of our favorite things in the whole world to do.

One could argue, that hiking can be done during any season of course! But its most enjoyable to ME when it's not so cold my fingers are freezing and throbbing in my gloves, and not so hot that I am instantly feeling dehydrated the moment I step out my door. No I am not kidding, I always bring a drink when I'm on the go! This is Arizona my loves! It doesn't matter what time of the year it is. So if you are here, in any part of the state, I cannot stress this enough--STAY HYDRATED.

Speaking of hiking, this week my family and took a six mile hike through Flagstaff's back trails to run errands and it was S P E C T A C U L A R. Though my camera did die, we did manage to capture a couple snaps of this bird talon we discovered. Then, we ran into some female deer with their babies that let us so close to them we could practically reach out and touch, we were able to spot some Rufous Hummingbirds which was nice--because they should be heading away from here now that it's getting cooler and back to Mexico where I am assuming they are gonna hold up for the winter. I also managed to lay my eyes on some stellar-jays that were settling in for the evening, and maybe snacking on something tasty before the sun set. I also spotted a couple of doggie friends (a cockerspaniel and a scotty terrier that I wanted to take home), and a friendly neighborhood chattering Albert squirrel. It was nice to get back down to our roots, sans cam equipment and to just take a hike for fun. The weather was beautiful, the animals were absolutely fantastic, and for a moment we were off the grid without many cares at all. Taking in the fresh mountain air makes me feel alive, surrounding myself in nature makes me feel small in the big picture of things and that's good--because if I'm small then my problems, life's problems, are smaller than I am. In that moment I am me, and all the problems I may have brought with me, are for the moment--checked at the treeline--they don't exist passed there.

The only other VERY fucking cool thing that happened for me this week worth a mention, was thanks to my wonderful husband!!! I have been very ill, and all of our bills were paid...so he bought me the biggest Andy Black Bundle Alternative Press has to offer for issue #361 which happens to be Andy Biersack's TENTH (10th) time gracing their cover! I might do an unboxing video or something because that would be neat, and that way you can see my daughter and I freak out over Andy Black items that you can't get anywhere else. Not sure if we're going to throw that up as patreon only content, but I will let yall know before it comes. I also have another super special package coming back to me but I really don't know when that is so THAT video will be a surprise for both of us!

Alright fam,

Post # 11: How are you living on a flexitarian diet? It's so expensive....

I think I'm going to start this week's #blogpost with the fact that humans are Omnivores; which, for those of you who may not know the term--means that we need both MEAT and VEGETABLES to survive. That being said I want to tell you that my family recently decided to take on a #flexitarian diet. For the most part, we have done real well. I want to also say that we haven't decided to do anything to be trendy, our choices are mostly health related and OUR CHOICES. Here's an opinion filled article that I don't necessarily agree with, but hey, there are two sides to everyone's story and it's definitely worth a read. I stumbled upon flexitarianism by doing a bit of research because MY body can't handle things like red meat or dairy. SO it was MY decision to cut those things out of my life, for MY health. Not because of the McCartneys, not because its trendy to not eat animals, and certainly not because I feel guilty for doing so because honestly I do not. To me it's the fucking food chain people, and human beings are omnivores as I have stated, so no it doesn't bother me to eat a chicken or some fish. No, I do not like to harm animals, I do not like animal torture, and I do not condone Trophy Hunting. But if something is dead and a meat thing, and there for me to  buy. If the animal wasn't tortured, and there were no added hormones, and that meat is organic--sure....I WILL eat it. BUT I PREFER a plant-based diet. It makes me feel clean, my skin feels clear, and I have a ton of energy (among other unmentioned more personal perks).

Flexitarian Diets  |    A Better (still opinionated) Article On Flexitarianism  | Flexi-recipes | Is This For You?

That should get that curiosity out of the way; which by the way guys its really not rocket science. My body can't handle dairy and red meat so it's out. I still eat chicken sometimes, I still eat fish sometimes, and yes I do include eggs in my diet. I am always curious and ever learning so sometimes this gets replaced with that so I can just try it on a trail basis. But when my body is working the way that I want it to work. That is good enough for me. I don't feel sluggish and sad, I have energy and I want to go out and play (even with a back injury). So aside from those questions I have gotten a lot of "Where do you Shop?" and "What do you buy?" a of course the inevitable "But it's so expensive isn't it?" So I'm going to tackle those bad boys. RIGHT here. RIGHT NOW.

For those of you whom are curious as to where I shop, there are several places there is never just one. If your are a thrifty shopper then expect to travel for your food because let's face it. Not everything is going to be conveniently priced within a square mile radius unless you are ONLY shopping sales and even then that's debatable. REMEMBER I live in a place where it is very hard to get around, so I'm not trying to go to th beginning of/out of town for my food. But I am willing to work for it. For starters I am a HUGE fan of WHOLEFOODS. Even though it's a good 3 miles there and back, and I walk or take the bus. Bring your own bags!!! save the oceans and don't use plastic!

Yep though, I said it. OH GOD! Before everyone get's their pitchforks and torches, hear me out. For one, I never get my produce here at Wholefoods, they don't last very long because they are likely shipped in from places like New Mexico, Mexico, and California....that being said Wholefoods is great for a number of other items that are both affordable and good for you! Wholefoods is where I get things like my organic coffee, my almond milk, my creamer etc. (GASP BUT YOU SAID YOU DONT DO DAIRY) Relax, I don't. I do almond milk creamer or coconut but never dairy. I also like getting dried goods here, on sale of course so it varies from week to week--and then of course there is BEYOND MEAT a meatless meat like substitute my family (my husband and daughter) are THRILLED to eat every time I make it. IT IS DELICIOUS. And for those meat lovers out there, it is definitely NOT meat, but it sure tastes close.

Another couple places I shop at are my local Fry's and Safeway; here's the thing. When I go to these places I go in for a very few amount of items. They are very specific and usually coupon or sale related. Nothing really out of the ordinary here except I usually get our bottled water for the fridge, and our terrible for us soda at these places too. Again, sales. I'm thrifty. Speaking of thrifty check out your local BIG LOTS, or if you are RHODE ISLAND based, JOB LOTS. I know ghetto right? WRONG. Why? Because that is some good food that is going out of season that is still very very yummy for cheap. Vegan, Vegetarian, or not--lower income families can certainly benefit from at least a monthly visit to this place. Another place I used to hit up for like sweets and cakes and snacks was the OUTLET stores. god help me, the prices are affordable and you leave with WAY too many fucking things--but they are all delicious and they literally have everything from local preserves to gingersnap cookies to those lil devil cakes with that horrible cream filling. So check your local area for those places!

That finally brings me to the big baddie. The place I get a bulk of my food, that keeps it under the budget every fucking time is our local farmers market. OH. GASP. Yes. It's organic, its locally grown by good people, it is healthy, it is hearty, and DAMN can you walk away with a BUNCH for a TINY amount. By and by, it's not very difficult to live a healthy lifestyle and it is NOT expensive. We spend in the amount of 350$ a month for three people on organic food and a mostly meatless lifestyle. I keep us healthy, happy, and fed--and as long as you know how to meal plan and play with recipes in your head then you can do it too! I hope all of this has been helpful incite and please, feel free to drop me a dm on the social medias to let me know what you think, how you think I can improve my blog, or to ask any general questions!

As always it's been a blast to write with you this week,

Blog Post #10: #Hartsquad & #Halloween & #Blogging Oh, my!

Lee Steinfeld or Leonhart is a creator on YouTube that is the founder of the #HartSquad since 2014.

What is the HartSquad some may ask, well if you have to ask, GTFO.

No, I'm just kidding.

Do you like Pokemon?

Lee does. He does vlogs, he opens pokemon cards, he travels and goes to conventions and other events, and he streams his gaming. He has done a lot of positive for the Pokemon community and for other communities (PSP, mental health, etc) as well. He's a great guy, with a bubbly personality that sets him apart from other YouTubers and keeps bringing my family back.

Are we fans? Yes we are! We can certainly get behind a man or channel with such a positive vibe. So we like to watch his videos and drop him some support when we can.

Curious?

Drop by and watch his videos: Leonhart

Oh and hay, maybe keep an eye out in a couple days on my various social medias (YouTube, Twitter, Instagram, Younow, etc) for a special #hartsquad related surprise! I'm so excited!!!!

So as I'm sitting here with my cup of coffee in hand, staring out at the nasty fucking alleyway that is behind my home. Watching the many different walks of life and various pieces of trash (im kidding....sorta....) that come through. The sun is out today, which is nice--but I haven't had my coffee yet so social interaction is definitely not happening until that does.

All that goofiness aside, did ya'll know that HALLOWEEN is coming??? Before you negative bitches come up on my page and try to piss on my parade, I KNOW its AUGUST. I DONT CARE. Halloween is a year-round thing for this family, so if you don't like it---exit stage left please.  .

That being said....Has anyone started thinking about their costumes this year yet?

WE HAVE!!!!

Our Future Begins . I'm hearing a lot of mixed feelings coming from the fandom for #fallout and #bethesda over the new Fallout 76. Apparently according to several sources this is going to be a multiplayer online game that apparently one can choose to play alone or go through the game with a team or party. Bethesda’s Todd Howard confirms that other players will always be present in Fallout 76 , but either way-whatever path you choose you are always going to have other players present in the same world. Meh. I'm an introvert....if I wanted to be social I would get onto my computer or call up my small circle of close knit friends.....why do I wanna risk being nuked in something that I spent hours building because some asshole stole codes? Idk....oh yeah, nukes and codes are now being introduced into the game. This gives me the same uneasy feeling I got when Donald Trump was handed the keys to the white house and access to nuclear codes---Idk about all that.

Still, as  a fan of the fallout series in the past, I had a pretty easy time deciding what I'm going to make as my costume this year. I'm going to be a vault dweller from vault 76--and my husband has agreed to build a matching jumpsuit. I am SO excited. LIKE RETARDED excited. If we had more money, we would have gone with skyrim--trust me (#skyrimandchill) BUT we made the best of what we DO have and we're still going to be some of the coolest fuckin dressed adults in Flagstaff, so take that slutty ghosts and clowns!!!!

What is your favorite video game? fandom? Do you have any ideas for costumes this year yet? Better start planning we only have a few months!!!! Maybe drop me a dm or a message and let me know on any of my socials if you don't feel comfortable getting a blogspot to message.

What about my princess? Has she decided on what she wants her costume to be this year?

Heck yes she has! She wants to be Fluttershy from My Little Pony. So....As I have no makeup skills for this and well I have no idea how to make a child a pony--I think I'm going to have my work cut out for me here.

Any suggestions? Should I do Fluttershy in her human form? Because honestly that would be easier. LOL....I would appreciate any suggestions from cosplayers or mommies that have done something similar in the past because wowie. That is a REQUEST. If I can't figure it out and all else fails, I guess there's party city.

So a friend told me I should just get my content out and in an attempt to do so I've been visiting Pottermore.com. We have plans for posting my videos of that up on YouTube in the near future and as always we are constantly referring our ghoul fam to movies (moviemonday) and various new/talented artists (tuesdaytunes) so if you follow along on Twitter you can get some more day-to-day content there as I post rather often. Fan of my pictures? Check out my Instagram, I try to post above five new pictures a day. Call it a hobby. I love using the camera. Want to watch some silly videos? clips of warped tour? a glimpse into the life of my family? Check out YouTube! And if you like what you see all around, then hit up my Patreon and show me some support so I can improve my content for you! xo

Thanks for Reading, see you next week ghouls!

Life has gotten in the way for everyone and I'm just going to leave it at that because I'm pretty sure no matter where you are in...
